Robert J. Adams, 80, of Burlington, beloved husband of Frances (Weingart) Adams, passed away peacefully Thursday, January 21st. Born in Hartford, May 25th, 1929, son of the late Joseph A. and Edith I. (Rogers) Adams, he was raised in Unionville and graduated from Farmington High School. Prior to retiring, Bob was the Manager of First National Stores and later was an Insurance Agent at Metropolitan Life. He was a United States Army veteran of the Korean War. He was an honorary lifetime member of the Bristol Polish American Citizens Club, the Burlington Men’s Club and the Bristol Elks Club. Bob loved his Punch Brook Farm, Vermont cabin and shopping at Shop Rite! Besides his wife, he is survived by his four brothers, William Adams of Vernon, Norman Adams of North Canton, Richard Adams of East Granby and Donald Adams of Canton, his brother-in-law, Theodore Weingart of Harwinton, his sister-in-law, Lois Grady and her husband Peter of Burlington and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister, Nancy A. Carroll. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at UCONN Health Center, Cherry Brook Health Care Center, CT Hospice, and his very patient home care nurse, Sharon. In accordance with Bob’s wishes, there will be no services. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Burlington Volunteer Fire and Ambulance, P.O. Box 1285, Burlington, CT 06013 or to Dial-A-Ride at the Town of Burlington, 200 Spielman Highway, Burlington, CT 06013. Arrangements are being handled by The Ahern Funeral Homes, Inc.
