Mary Rose Fiore, 82, of Wallingford, formerly of Burlington, beloved wife of Carl Fiore, Ph.D., passed away peacefully Thursday, December 10th. She was born in Highbridge, New York, daughter of the late William H. and Irene (English) Gurnee. She graduated from The College of Mount St. Vincent in Riverdale, New York and went to grad school at Fordham University where she earned a Master’s degree. Mary Rose was a professor of Biology at several different colleges in New York City. She and her family traveled extensively. In later years, Mary Rose became involved in Tai Chi and Yoga and taught a class at their retirement village (Ashlar Village) in Wallingford. Besides her husband, she is survived by her six nieces, Laura, Claire, Robin, Carolyn, Debra and Felicia, her four nephews, Graham, Rev. William Gurnee, Michael and Lawrence. She was predeceased by her brother, William H. Gurnee. Friends may call at The Ahern Funeral Home, 111 Main St., Rt. 4, Unionville on Tuesday (Dec. 15) from 9:30-10:30am. Funeral procession from The Ahern Funeral Home will be Tuesday at 10:30am followed by the Funeral Liturgy in the Church of St. Patrick, Rt. 4, Burlington at 11:00am. Burial will be in St. Patrick Cemetery, Burlington. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 5 Brookside Dr., P.O.
