John T. Dickman, 57, of Middletown, passed from this life at Middlesex Hospital on August 20th, 2009. Born in Hartford, he was the son of Gloria A. Brodeur of Unionville and the late S. John Dickman of Cincinnati, Ohio. He is also survived by his step-mother, Gloria “Joyce” Dickman of Cincinnati, Ohio and his step-father, Charles Brodeur of Unionville. He leaves a loving daughter, Tammi L. Dickman of Middletown, a son, John Dickman and four grandchildren. He leaves his soul mate and companion of seventeen years, Sandra L. Merlo and his beloved cat Timba. His loving memory will remain in their hearts forever. He was predeceased by his sister, Linda Swartzkopf. John was a kind and gentle soul and touched the hearts of everyone who knew him well. He was a gifted artist and a talented writer. Friends and relatives may call at The Ahern Funeral Home, 111 Main St., Rt. 4, Unionville on Thursday (Aug. 27) from 6:00-7:00pm followed by a Prayer Service at 7:00pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
