Elsie (Vadney) Scheffield, wife of the late Haviland Scheffield, died Monday, January 2, 2012 at Ingraham Manor in Bristol. She was born June 28, 1914 in Albany, New York to Louie and Malvina Vadney. Elsie was a graduate of Albany High School, Class of 1932. She relocated to New Britain in 1956 and moved to Bristol in 1970. She is survived by her daughter, Rosalind Terranova of Burlington, her grandchildren, Kimberly Busch and her husband Ron of North Carolina, Brenda Knox of Canaan, Scott Knox of Burlington, and Tabitha Wakefield and her husband Kurt of Bath, NH, and her great grandchildren, Daniel Kozikowski and Brittany Williams. She was predeceased by her daughter, Nancy Knox, her son, Charles Scheffield, her son-in-law, Joseph Terranova, her brother, Joseph Vadney and her sisters, Rose Devane, Dorothy Vadney and Marjorie Lovejoy. The family would like to thank the staff at Ingraham Manor for their kindness and compassion while caring for Elsie the past 6 ½ years. There are no calling hours. Funeral services will be private.
