James H. Riley, of Unionville, son of the late Francis and Florence Riley, died peacefully at home on February 7, 2012 amidst family, having fought bone marrow cancer bravely for months. He is survived by his wife Jo-Ann Mazur Riley, sons James and John, and his daughter in law Dr. Amy Riley, four grandchildren, Sixtus, Roch Deva, Nighton and Elliott, and his sister Donna LeBlanc. He will also be missed by his furry companions, Oscar, Sammy Rose, Judy and Tammy. Jim served his country proudly during the Cuban Missile Crisis in the Bay of Pigs as a gun loader on a naval destroyer. He then worked for Gems Sensors as a purchasing agent until his retirement. Jim’s approach to life was that “those who can, should, and those who should, will”. Graveside funeral services with full Naval Honors will be Friday (Feb. 10) at 11:00am in Riverside Cemetery, 160 Garden Street, Farmington with Rev. Barbara McLelland officiating. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Farmington Valley VNA, 8 Old Mill Lane Simsbury, CT, 06070.
